Seleknas Pelengkap Tim Olimpiade Catur yang dimulai sejak tanggal 12 sampai 21 Maret 2014 telah selesai dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan dua sistem pertandingan, yaitu: sistem Swiss 7 babak pada Tahap I untuk mencari 6 peringkat teratas kelompok putra dan 6 peringkat teratas kelompok putri, dan pada Tahap II menggunakan sistem Double Round Robbin atau sistem Kompetisi Penuh – dimana setiap pemain dari 6 besar putra maupun 6 besar putri akan berhadapan dua kali menghadapi lawan yang sama dengan sekali memegang buah putih dan sekali memegang buah hitam.
